Ease of Doing Business: Chemicals Technical Working Group

SPIK as represented by Ms. Gretchen Fontejon- Enarle co-chaired with Dir. Eries Cagatan, Director, Manufacturing Industries Service of BOI, during the Chemicals TWG Meeting of the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) last January 20, 2016 at the BOI Penthouse, Makati City.

Dir Cagatan presented the implementation of the chemicals roadmap, starting with the general vision, as well as the six (6) strategic visions for the chemical industry. These were followed with the performance of the industry for 2015, the targets set forth in the roadmap which can be achieved through activities or action points categorized into four groups.

She also discussed the achievements of the EODB project; conduct of the regulator’s forum, participation and updates in the ASEAN-Japan Chemical Safety Database, APEC project proposal, development of paint standards, formation of PNP TWG, conduct of familiarization tours and GHS orientation seminar for regulators, development of training regulation for process operators and QA/ QC laboratory technicians and establishment of a petrochemical industry cluster.
