TWG Meeting on PNP Controlled Chemicals

The TWG on PNP Controlled Chemicals met on January 26, 2016 at the BOI Penthouse for the final presentation of output of the three Sub-TWG; Sub-TWG on Categorization of PNP Controlled Chemicals, Sub-TWG on Streamlining of Procedures and Requirements and Sub-TWG on Accreditation of 3rd Party Logistics Providers and Company-owned Vehicles. The Meeting was co-chaired by USec Enrile of the DILG and USec Ceferino Rodolfo of DTI-BOI.

Dr. Fabian Dayrit of Chairman of the Sub-TWG on categorization of chemicals, Academician from the National Academy of Science and Technology and representing the Integrated Chemists of the Philippines discussed the criteria and evaluation process for the categorization of 101 chemicals. Gen. Elmo Sarona presented the output of the Sub-TWG on Streamlining of procedures and requirements and Ma. Veronica Magsino of PEZA discussed the agreements in the Sub-TWG on Accreditation of Haulers and Truckers.

The meeting was attended by representatives from industry, academe and government. One of the initial agreements was the adoption of the “green rating” proposal of the Sub-TWG on categorization of chemicals with the exception of chlorates, nitrates, nitric acid, sulfur and potassium permanganate based on the persistent demand of the PNP.
