The Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika Responsible Care Council conducted a new approach of the annual Responsible Care Awareness Seminar last June 27-28, 2019 at Acacia hotel, Muntinlupa City.

RC Chair Ms. Janet Marcellana give a brief introduction of Responsible Care Program. Followed thru a questions to be answered using a Mobile Applications. To know if they really listening to what the speaker had discussed.

The participants were divided by group of five. Were the they perform different group activities in connection to the guiding principles of Responsible Care. In every activities, the group will acquire designated points. And the group with highest points receives a token.

Leading the discussions on the different Codes of Management Practice were the Responsible Care Council Members; Ms. Joy Manzo- Peña for the Product Stewardship Code, Ms. Maphel Lao on CAER, Mr. Romy Imperial on EHS Code, Ms. Mutya Samonte on Pollution Prevention, Ms. Janet Marcellana on Distribution Code, Ms. Arlene Villanueva on Process Safety Code and Mr. Pio Ramirez on Security Code. This time a new approach was made, where they will have a Gallery walk on the different codes. In which they really appreciate since the Speakers share best practices of their companies on their RC Codes of Management Program.

Aside from gaining the knowledge on the effective implementation of Responsible Care, on the second day, Ms. Gretchen Enarle presented the SPIK Verification Program. The Participants were also guided in accomplishing the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Key Performance Indicator. These forms will be submitted to the Secretariat as part of obligations of SPIK Member Companies annually.

The seminar were attended by forty (50) participants from 27 member companies.
