The Anti-Terrorism Council-Program Management Center (ATC-PMC) recently concluded the four-day seminar on Chemical Threat and Risk Assessment Workshop held on april 22-25 2024. The said initiative was organized by the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency (US DTRA) and subject matter experts from the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Representatives from TNC Chemicals, Inc. JG Summit Olefins Corporation and Pacific Paint (Boysen) Philippines, Inc. participated in the said event.

 

Chemical Threat and Risk Assessment Workshop

The four-day engagement aims to equip stakeholders to design a chemical security regulatory framework for the Philippines that manages chemical threats and risks.  Among others, the workshop included sessions and activities on defining threats, graded regulatory approaches, chemical security hazards, considerations in listing Chemicals of Security Concern (COSC), as well as assessing potential required security measures to mitigate the identified chemical security risks.
