14 May Stakeholders’ Consultation on Career Progression and Specialization Program for Chemical Engineers Held at Adamson University
The Professional Regulatory Board of Chemical Engineering (PRB-ChE) conducted a stakeholders’ consultation on 14 May 2026 at Adamson University to discuss the Draft Resolution entitled “Creation of a Career Progression and Specialization Program (CPSP) for Professional Chemical Engineering (PQF Level 7).” The event aimed to gather inputs and recommendations from various sectors to ensure the proposed program’s relevance and alignment with national development goals and international qualification standards.
The consultation was anchored on the provisions of Republic Act No. 10968 (Philippine Qualifications Framework Act), Republic Act No. 10912 (Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016), and Republic Act No. 9297 (Chemical Engineering Law of 2004). These laws supported the institutionalization of a structured career pathway and specialization framework for chemical engineers in the Philippines.

Hon. Cesar Dela Cruz, member of the PRB of Chemical Engineering, welcomed the participants and set the tone for the meaningful discussions that followed. Other distinguished speakers included Hon. Cecilia Herras-Tence, Officer-In-Charge and Member of the PRB for Landscape Architecture; Ms. Perla G. Po, CPSP-CATS Consultant; and Hon. Shirlyn Chua-Reyes, member of the PRB of Chemical Engineering.

The Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika (SPIK) actively participated in the consultation. President Aldrich Bentilanon and Ms. Tonette Fallarme attended the meeting in person, while Director Gretchen Enarle joined virtually. Their valuable insights and expertise contributed significantly to the discussions.

The session concluded with the ways forward being presented by Hon. Maricris C. Vines, Chairperson of the PRB of Chemical Engineering. Additionally, a response from the Accredited Integrated Professional Organization (AIPO) was delivered by Engr. Dennis T. Pagud, President of the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE).

Overall, the consultation brought together representatives from industry, government, academe, and the chemical engineering community. Through collaborative efforts and constructive dialogue, PRB-ChE gathered essential feedback to refine the CPSP and better support the professional advancement of chemical engineers nationwide.
