The DTI- Export Marketing Bureau (DTI- EMB) in coordination with the International Trade Centre and PhilExport organized a focus group discussion on Non- Tariff Measures (NTMs) for the chemical industry in partnership with SPIK on March 15, 2016 at the Hotel H2O, Manila.

Mr. Oscar A. Barrera, Philexport Trustee for the Chemicals Sector, delivered his welcome remarks.  “I am sure that we all have eagerly anticipated the breaking down of tariffs through the years.  For this reason, PHILEXPORT actively supported the passage and implementation of the various trade agreements participated in by the Philippines.  Within this regime, the promise of zero to minimal tariffs is obviously an opportunity that we embrace as an exporters group.  Under a liberalized trade environment, our exporters are supposed to be able to sell more competitively-priced products to more markets not only in ASEAN but globally” said Mr. Barrera.
