The DTI- Board of Investment (BOI) headed by Dir. Evariste M. Cagatan organized the awareness seminar for regulators implementing GHS in collaboration with the Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika (SPIK). It was held on November 10, 2017 at the Makati Residences, Makati City.

In 2009, eight (8) government agencies, DTI, DENR, DA, DOF, DOH, DILG, DOLE, DOTC, signed the Joint Administrative Order (JAO) No.01 on the Adoption and Implementation of Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). It sets out the duties and responsibilities of the GHS implementing and coordinating government agencies in the adoption of the classification criteria, labeling, and SDS requirements of the GHS.

Joining in the awareness seminar were representatives from FDA, BFP, FPA, OSHC, BPS, BOC, and DOTr.
