The Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) organized the Philippine Export Competitiveness Program (PECP) Information Session on Comelec Gun Ban and Strategic Trade Management Act (STMA) on February 28, 2019 at the AVR, G/F, DTI International Building, 375 Sen. Gil Puyat Ave., Makati City.

The half-day session featured the discussion on COMELEC Regulation on Controlled Chemicals during gun ban by Atty. Akia Co III of the Law Department of COMELEC and PSSupt. Manuel A. Placido, Chief of the Explosives Management Division of PNP. The Updates on Strategic Trade Management Act (STMA) was presented by Justin A. Herrera of the Strategic Trade Management Office (STMO).

SPIK submitted its comments and suggestions to the Export Development Council (EDC) as the regulations are currently affecting its members. Ms. Asnia Babao reported that said comments will be taken up during the NCTPPS Committee Meeting and will request for the Committee’s approval to proceed the letter to COMELEC to endorse said recommendations.
