The DTI- BOI hosted an inter-agency meeting on June 06, 2017 to discuss the development of the building blocks that will form part of the GHS implementation in the Philippines. In the Joint Administrative Order (JAO) No. 01 Series of 2009, the Department of Trade and industry – Board of Investments was mandated to lead the National GHS Implementing and Coordinating Committee and shall be coordinating with Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the implementation of GHS.

Director Eries Cagatan of the Board of Investments encouraged the representatives of government agencies provide comments on the proposed building blocks which was aligned to the current GHS implementation around the world. The Philippines is implementing GHS through DAO 2015-09 of the DENR-EMB and D.O. 136-14 of the DOLE.

Engr. Gretchen Fontejon- Enarle provided an overview on the Building Block Approach and Cut-Off Concentrations as basic guidelines for the regulators in the development of building block.
