Preparatory Meeting Advances Strategic Collaboration for the 2026 International Coastal Clean Up

On August 4, 2026, a preparatory meeting was convened in anticipation of the upcoming International Coastal Clean Up scheduled for September 12, 2026. The meeting brought together representatives from key partner companies and organizations committed to environmental stewardship, including Philippine Prosperity Chemicals, Inc., Mabuhay Vinyl Corporation, Legaspi Import and Export Corporation, Coastal Bay Chemicals, Inc., Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc., and Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika.

Presiding over the meeting was Engr. Gretchen F. Enarle, Director of the Environmental, Social and Governance Committee, who opened the session with an overview of the event’s objectives and the importance of collaborative action in protecting the country’s coastal ecosystems. The attendees discussed detailed plans for logistics, volunteer coordination, waste collection and disposal procedures, safety protocols, and publicity strategies to maximize community engagement.

The meeting emphasized the vital role of industry partnerships in advancing environmental sustainability goals and reaffirmed the commitment of all participants to ensure a successful and impactful International Coastal Clean Up. With about a month remaining until the event, the collaborative efforts laid down during this preparatory meeting are poised to enhance the effectiveness and reach of this environmental initiative, fostering cleaner and healthier coastal communities across the Philippines.
