The public consultation on the proposed amendment of the DAO 2013-22 Revised Procedures and Standards for the Management of Hazardous Wastes was conducted on October 22, 2020. The consultation was led by Engr. Geri Geronimo Sanez, Chief of the Hazardous Waste Management Section of the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB). It must be noted that on June 28, 2019, SPIK submitted a position paper on the proposed amendments.    



The event was participated by about one hundred individuals representing government, industry, academe and non-governmental organizations. During the public consultation, Engr. Sanez presented the draft administrative order including the comments and suggestions received from the different stakeholders. We are happy to note that most of the positions of Association were considered in the proposed amendment.

The DAO 2013-22 covers the requirements and procedures for permitting hazardous wastes generators, transporters and storage, treatment and disposal (TSD) facilities.
