Responsible Care Awareness Seminar Successfully Conducted to Enhance Industry Safety and Sustainability

The Responsible Care Awareness Seminar held on April 15, 2026, was organized in collaboration with the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PCAPI). It brought together industry professionals to deepen their understanding of the principles and practices critical to chemical safety, environmental stewardship, and community responsibility. The event featured a series of expert-led sessions that covered the essential elements of the Responsible Care program.

The seminar began with a welcome message from Engr. Luzviminda Angeles, President of PCAPI, followed by an overview of the Responsible Care Program presented by Engr. Gretchen F. Enarle, Director of the Committee on Environmental, Social, and Governance of SPIK. This set the stage for the day’s in-depth discussions on product stewardship and pollution prevention, both delivered by Engr. Jocelyn Peṅa of the Responsible Care Council.

Later sessions addressed employee health and safety principles as well as process safety, both presented by Mr. Lian Derick Layog, Country Health, Safety, Security and Sustainability Environment Manager at DKSH Philippines. Community Awareness and Emergency Response (CAER) were discussed by Engr. Albert Samuela, a member of the Responsible Care Council. Ms. Janet Z. Marcellana, Manager at Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., then led the discussions on distribution and security.
