SPIK  conducted a two-day webinar on risk assessment  on November 4-5, 2020. About 90 participants from the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Central and Regional Offices and SPIK Responsible Care Council participated in the said event.

Assistant Director Vizminda Osorio formally opened the event. In her opening message, she mentioned about the importance of risk assessment in the implementation of chemical management. 

Mr. Gil Michael Perez of P&G Singapore presented the overall global landscape on chemical inventory and prioritization followed by a discussion on human health and environmental toxicology by Dr. Gaurav Chugh and Dr Katherine Coady of P&G Singapore and The Dow Chemical Company, respectively.

Sharing their expertise on the overview of risk assessment and its 8-step process, guidance on risk assessment, hazard and exposure assessment, risk characterization and management were Dr. Jeff Li of P&G, Dr. Steven Zou and Dr. Chen Huiting of Exxon Mobil. A workshop on the prioritization and risk assessment was also conducted. 

The success of the two-day workshop was a result of the overwhelming support from the EMB leadership led by Engr. William Cunado who made the closing remarks and the commitment of SPIK to partner with EMB.
