15 Mar Round Table Meeting on Nanotechnology with the Business Delegation from Iran
The Export Marketing Bureau of Department of Trade and Industry conducted a Round Table Meeting on Nanotechnology last March 13, 2019 at the Training Room, 5th floor DTI International building, Makati City.
This Round Table Meeting was a result of the visit of Iran Ambassador Muhammad Tanhaei to the Undersecretary Abdulgani Macatoman last March 1, 2019. Ambassor Tanhaei together with his Political Attache Mr. Naseri discussed that a business delegation from their country visited the Philippines from March 10-15. The mission is a group of Nanotech Experts headed by the Chief of their Nanotech Initiative Council.
The Iranian officials informed the participants in the round table meeting that Iran ranks 5th in the Nanotechnology worldwide and that they have advanced R&D in this area, with hundreds of companies manufacturing nanotech products in fields such as automotive, cement, textile, health, construction materials, chemicals, paints, polymers, electronics and providing nanotechnologies exported to other countries like China, Japan, Germany, France and the US.
Iran according to Ambassador Tanhaei has an extensive partnership with Indonesia, a Nanotech Office in Jakarta and they want to explore the same partnership and collaboration with the Philippines in three (3) fields: Exporting, Technology Transfer, and Joint Ventures.
SPIK together with other industry associations joined this meeting. Other representative both from the government and academe were also present. SPIK was represented by BOD Romeo L. Imperial -VP President- External.
