The Integrated of the Philippines (ICP) in cooperation with the Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika (SPIK) organized a roundtable discussion on the newly issued BOC Memorandum Circular 228- 2018 last November 29, 2018 at the Century Park Hotel, Manila.

Under the said Circular, all importations of chemicals will be subjected to “non-intrusive inspection for possible presence of Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals (CPECs) used to manufacture dangerous drugs, in diluted, mixtures or in concentrated form.

The meetings aims to discuss measures that will help achieve the objective of preventing the importation of illicit drugs and its precursors with minimal disruption to the chemical sector.

Following the said meeting, SPIK submitted a position paper in relation to the BOC MC 228- 2018 addressed to the BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero.
