The Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika (SPIK), the renowned chemical association for chemical safety and security, joined forces with Health Security Partners (HSP), a nonprofit network that strives to advance health security through education, collaboration, and stewardship, in a collaborative effort to enhance chemical security. A highly anticipated meeting was held last May 22, 2024, with SPIK’s team, led by Engr. Gretchen Enarle, joining forces with HSP’s representative, Ms. Rebecca Johnson.

The objective of this collaboration is to conduct a series of workshops that will empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in strengthening their knowledge and practices regarding chemical security. The workshops, to be held from September to November, will combine virtual sessions and in-person training, leveraging technology to ensure wider access and maximum participation.

SPIK expressed their appreciation for the opportunity provided by HSP to collaborate on this groundbreaking project. Engr. Gretchen Enarle emphasized the significance of knowledge-sharing initiatives that aim to enhance chemical security across industries. She stated, “The collaboration between SPIK and HSP will play a vital role in fortifying the understanding and implementation of chemical safety measures among SMEs.”

With this joint effort, SPIK and HSP are poised to make a significant impact on chemical security. By empowering SMEs, this collaboration aims to create a safer and more resilient chemical industry, ensuring the well-being of both businesses and the environment.
