Last June 03, 2019, SPIK met with the EMB-CMS headed by the Chief of the Chemical Management Section Engr. Edwin Rommel Navaluna and Engr. Jose Joel Malleon, Senior Supervising Specialist, for a courtesy visit. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss some of the industry’s issues and concerns on the implementation of chemical rules and regulations.

Some of the discussion points are the regulations on Philippine Inventory of Chemicals and Chemical Substances (PICCS), Polymer Exemption, Priority Chemical List (PCL), Pre-Manufacture Pre-Importation Notification (PMPIN) and Chemical Control Order (CCO).

SPIK representatives were led by their President, Ms. Gretchen Fontejon- Enarle, together with Ms. Janet Marcellana, Responsible Care (RC) Chairman. The RC Council was represented by Ms. Joy Manzo of Dow Coatings, Ms. Maphel Lao of BASF Phils., Ms. Cynthia Ferranco of Connel Bros. Co. Pilipinas, Inc., Ms. Mutya Samonte of Nuovochem Specialties Inc. and Ms. Tonette Fallarme of SPIK Secretariat.
