SPIK Meets New Head of the Bureau of Customs – Environmental Protection Unit (BOC- EPU)

On February 04, 2016, SPIK visited SP/ Major Paul O. Ditona, the newly designated head of the BOC- EPU. The courtesy visit was an opportunity to discuss the Association’s programs, activities and engagements with different government agencies.

Together with Dir Romeo Dela Cruz and Ms. Antonette Fallarme, Ms. Gretchen Fontejon- Enarle presented some of the issues and concerns of the industry.  Some of the pressing issues discussed were the submission of PICCS Certificate even though chemicals are already listed in the Philippine Inventory of Chemicals and Chemical Substances (PICCS), requirements for 100% declaration of components in the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), Confidential Business Information (CBI) and threshold for PCL exemption.

“These issues will be brought up during the seminar to be conducted by EMB to BOC personnel on February 11, 2016” according to Major Ditona.
