The Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) and the Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika (SPIK) recently organized a webinar focused on the PIChE Registry and the Philippine Chemical Industry Roadmap. This virtual event, which took place on December 6, 2024, attracted over 100 participants from the chemical industry and chemical engineering fields.

Dr. Nathaniel Dugos, the National President of PIChE, opened the event by stressing the significance of unity and knowledge exchange in promoting advancements within the chemical engineering field. Attendees benefited from informative presentations and discussions led by industry leaders, which provided a thorough understanding of the advantages of the registry and the strategic initiatives detailed in the roadmap.

The objective of the webinar was to inform professionals about the advantages and necessity of the PIChE Registry in promoting professional recognition and ethical practices. Additionally, it provided a platform for strategic discussions regarding the Philippine Chemical Industry Roadmap, which outlines future growth trajectories and sustainable development objectives for the sector.

The presence of notable speakers such as Hon. Cesar S. Dela Cruz from the Professional Regulatory Board of Chemical Engineering and Engr. Albert Samuela, SPIK Vice President for External Affairs, highlighted the importance of cooperation between professional organizations and government bodies in establishing standards and policies for chemical engineering.

The webinar concluded with final remarks from SPIK President Engr. Gretchen Enarle, who expressed appreciation to all attendees and highlighted the value of such collaborations in progressing the industry.
