SPIK conducted a two-day Awareness Workshop for Responsible Care/ Team Building last May 28-29, 2018 at Bellevue Hotel, Muntinlupa City.

Some thirty six (36) participants including representatives from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Philippine National Authority (PNA-ATC) and SPIK Member Companies Representative were welcomed by Dir. Janet Marcellana through her opening message.

Ms. Cynthia Reyes of Inchem started the training with Team Building Activity. The afternoon discussion on the principles of Responsible Care followed by sharing of best practices was done with the discussions on the different RC Codes of Management Practices by Joy Peña on Product Stewardship, Enet Batac of CB Andrew Phils., Inc. on Process Safety, Arlene Villanueva of Dow Chemical on Pollution Prevention,  Cesario Domingo of Transworld Trading for EHS, Pio Ramirez from Metro Industries on CAER, Distribution and Security.

On the second day, RC Implementation was given by Ms. Cynthia Reyes as well as the SPIK Verification Framework. The Process Safety Metrics was discussed by Mr. Cesar Domingo. Self Assessment Report and how to fill up the Key Performance Indicator Report was taught by Ms. Arlene Ramirez. There is also a Regulatory update that was imparted by RC Chair Janet Marcellana of Pilipinas Shell.

It was indeed a success event for both the participants and SPIK. This training aimed at increasing the level awareness and providing guidance to RC Coordinators in filling up the Self Assessment Report (SAR) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and in the proper implementation of RC in their respective companies.
