The SPIK Responsible Care Council convened a meeting on August 14, 2024, to plan and prepare for an upcoming environmental event. This meeting serves as the prelude to the much- anticipated International Coastal Cleanup, set to unfold in Simlong, Batangas City, on September 21, 2024. This event not only underscores SPIK’s dedication to its corporate social responsibilities but also coincides with the worldwide observance of International Coastal Cleanup Month.

At the helm of this environmental event is Engr. Bob Chaervin Castrence from JG Summit Olefins Corporation, who will be coordinating the planning and execution of the event. Joining him is Engr. Reinier Jay C. Bagabay, SPIK Director and the force behind the Responsible Care Council. His background and passion for preserving the environment promise to boost this initiative to success, ensuring that SPIK’s green footprint resonates loudly across the global landscape.

SPIK collaboration with JG Summit Olefins Corporation and the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) Batangas Chapter through the leadership of Engr. Albert A. Samuela, is a partnership that promises an effective approach to addressing the issues of marine and water pollution. The association’s objective is to not only clean the coastlines but also to instil education to the community on the importance of sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
