The TWG meeting hosted by the DTI- Board of Investments (BOI) in relation to the PNP Controlled Chemicals was held on February 19, 2020 in Makati. The meeting was co-chaired by Dir. Eries M. Cagatan of the BOI and PCol Westrimundo Obinque of the PNP-FEO.

The objective of the meeting is to discuss remaining and outstanding issues and concerns on the implementation of the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) on Controlled Chemicals.

Ms. Pauline Torre of the BOI presented the Agenda including the updates on status of commissioning of the Research and Development Team, Terms of Reference, outstanding issues and concerns, permit to unload, and Comelec resolution on PNP controlled chemicals.

One of the major issues and concerns raised by the stakeholders is the coverage of aluminum paste and molten sulfur. PNP-FEO reported that they already issued a certification on the exclusion of the said chemical substances.

Representatives from the PNP Crime Laboratory, DTI- Strategic Trade and Management Office (STMO), DTI- Export Marketing Bureau (EMB), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency  (PDEA), Export Development Council (EDC), SPIK, PhilExport, PCCI, SEIPI and PEZA also attend the meeting.
