On May 29, 2017, SPIK in collaboration with De La Salle University and CRDF Global organized a webinar on Chemical Risk Management to cater the needs of the industry and academe on chemical safety and security issues. CRDF Global is an independent nonprofit organization that promotes international scientific and technological collaboration through grants, technical resources, training and services. It operates in more than 40 countries worldwide through its U.S. headquarters and international offices.

The webinar featured discussions on the foundation of implementing a chemical safety and security program and sharing of lessons learned from chemical incidences and best practices by the chemical industry and laboratory facilities.

Despite some difficulties and challenges encountered in the wifi connections, the webinar was well attended by over 15 universities and colleges nationwide, regulators particularly from Bureau of Customs (BOC), Occupational Health and Safety Center (OHSC), Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) and industry practitioners from SPIK.
