17th IAC Meeting Focuses on Semicon Industry Growth and Pharma Challenges

Dr. Annabelle V. Briones of the Industrial Technology Development Institute led the 17th Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) Meeting on 10 December 2024 in Unilab Bayanihan Center. Present at the said event were DOST-ITDI, Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika (SPIK), Packaging Institute of the Philippines (PIP), Philippine Plastic Industry Association (PPIA), Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PCAPI) and the Philfoodex  as major stakeholders.

Dr. Dan Lachica, President of SEIPI, noted the economic importance of the semiconductor industry in the Philippines and shared the advocacy initiatives of the association. On the other hand, Atty. Jose Maria Ochave SVP of United Laboratories, Inc.’s Growth Leadership Unit-2 evaluated the current state of the pharmaceutical sector but expressed challenges in the registration process. Conversations centered around potential joint ventures to strengthen these key sectors.

Dr. Briones concluded the session, thanking all IAC members, the secretariat and collaborators for commitment of time, energy, and effort to accomplish objectives in common and for working on advancement of the committee’s programs.
