
13 May SPIK Shares Insights on Chemical Industry Growth and Importation Regulations at SEIPI Purchasing Managers’ GMM
SPIK was invited to be a Resource Speaker at the Association of SEIPI Purchasing Managers’ (ASPM) Q2 General Membership Meeting (GMM). Held on 13 May 2025 at Gruppo EMS, Inc. in Laguna Technopark, Philippines, the session featured discussion on the availability and production capacities of the chemical local market; and the trade regulatory issues on importation; and how trade wars affected the supply chain.


In her presentation, Engr. SPIK President Gretchen F. Enarle spoke about the state of the chemical industry today and the problems and potential solutions for electronics and semiconductor firms trying to comply with regulations. She added: “It’s also essential to keep abreast of the latest importation rules to ensure you stay ahead of the game.”
GMM also had Mr. Charlie Villaseṅor, Chairman of the Procurement and Supply Institute of Asia (PASIA) discussing supply chain management in the age of trade wars and AI, and Engr. Jomar R Montalvo, Country Sales Manager of Ellsworth Adhesives Philippines Inc., who discussed their complete end-to-end chemical importation, warehousing, and distribution solutions offered at Ellsworth. Mr. Raymund Chua, Chairperson of ASPM, presented the status of their projects and priorities.

Following the informative sessions, attendees had the opportunity to explore the latest products and electronic accessories through a plant tour and supplier showcase. The event aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the industry, ultimately supporting its continued growth and innovation.
