04 Jun PCCI Consultative Meeting on Industry Concerns and Advocacy Initiatives
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) conducted a consultative meeting on June 4, 2026, at the PCCI Building in Taguig City. The meeting provided updates on PCCI’s ongoing advocacy initiatives, particularly on matters concerning trade, logistics and taxation, regulatory challenges, reskilling and upskilling, education, energy, and power, among others.
The consultation also served as a venue for industry representatives to discuss pressing issues and concerns affecting their respective sectors, which PCCI can elevate and champion in forthcoming policy dialogues with government leaders in both the executive and legislative branches.
Participants represented various industry associations, including the Confederation of Truckers Association of the Philippines (CTAP), Packaging Institute of the Philippines (PIP), Ceramic Manufacturers Association, Inc. (CMAI), Glass Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (GMAPI), Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation, Inc. (SEIPI), and the Philippine Chamber of Customs Brokers, Inc. (PCCBI).
During the discussion, several common challenges faced by the different sectors were highlighted.
These included issues related to the Bureau of Customs (BOC), particularly the shortage of container yard space, and customs valuation, energy-related challenges, implementation of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Law, and system downtimes on the BOC Air Freight Automation System, which result in delays in the release and delivery of materials.

Many of these concerns are similarly experienced by the chemical industry, underscoring the need for coordinated action and policy support. In response, PCCI President Mr. Perry Ferrer and Vice President for Industry Mr. Bryan Ang acknowledged the challenges raised and assured the participants that PCCI would continue to actively engage with relevant government agencies and advocate for practical solutions to address these issues.
