The ASEAN Regulatory Cooperation Platform (ARCP) organized a series of very interesting mini webinars on 23 May 2025 to improve awareness and promote best practices in the chemical sector. Attended by around 70 participants representing various sectors from industry and government, the event concentrated on key areas including animal welfare and cessation of redundant animal testing.
Dr. Marlly Guarin, Animal Welfare Lead, Shell Global Solutions International BV, gave a talk on “Advancing Responsible Practices: Committment on Animal Testing & Welfare Standards” and “Advocacy in Action: Avoiding Duplicative Testing.”

In this context, also Dunja Drmač, senior manager at the European Chemical Industry Council, offered insights on “Simplification of REACH- perspectives from the chemical industry”.

Ms. Cissie Yeung and Mr. Fabien Henry were hosts of the event and both are Co-Chairperson of the ARCP. These interactive sessions aimed to provide a deeper understanding and facilitate the adoption of innovative approaches to animal testing within the ASEAN community, thereby aligning with global ethical and environmental standards.
