BASF believes that climate change is the greatest challenge of our time. Our innovations enable a low-carbon future –at the same time chemical production is highly energy-and CO2-intensive. We are committed to the Paris Climate Agreement and are taking action: By 2030 we will reduce our absolute CO2 emissions by 25% compared to 2018 and we will reduce our specific Scope 3.1 emissions by 15 percent compared to 2022. We aim to achieve net zero emissions at BASF by 2050. To make that happen we focus on scaling up several new breakthrough technologies for reducing carbon emissions in the chemical industry. Let’s celebrate Environment Month by taking a look at BASF’s Climate Protection initiatives in this video! To learn more about BASF’s sustainability efforts, please go to Sustainability.
