The 5th TWG Meeting for the PCIR was held on June 11, at the BOI in Makati. This meeting was jointly presided by government co-chair BOI Executive Director Maria Corazon Dichosa and industry co-chair SPIK President Engr. Gretchen Enarle bringing together key figures from the Association of Petrochemical Manufacturers of the Philippines (APMP), Fertilizer Industry Association of the Philippines (FIAP), Progressive Association of the Philippine Ink Makers, Inc. (PAPIM), and Adamson University.

Engr. Albert Samuela of SPIK provided updates on the progress of SWG1 Industry-Academe Collaboration, including the completion of a project Playbook and planned industry-academe matching and roadshows. Meanwhile, Engr. Gretchen Enarle also reported to the group an update on the progress of SWG3’s Ease of Doing Business, particularly on the prioritized law/policy amendments, including FDA HUHS, Comelec Gun Ban Resolution, and PNP Controlled Chemicals IRR review. Also present was Ms. Tonette Falarme who presented an update on the implementation of Responsible Care under Strategy 5, while Ms. Geraldine Buela of BOI provided details on the proposed IRR amendments for PNP Controlled Chemicals.

TWG Convenes for 5th Meeting

The meeting generated meaningful discussion and cooperation towards growth and sustainability of the Philippine chemical industry. It was the commitment to continually drive the goals of the roadmap, and in doing so securing a better future for the industry through execution of strategic policy and extensive engagement across all relevant stakeholders.
