The Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PCAPI) welcomed its newly elected Officers and Board of Trustees during the induction ceremony held at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City on July 31, 2024. The event was graced by the presence of Engr. Geri Geronimo Sañez, Division Chief of the Environmental Quality Management Division at the Environmental Management Bureau, who served as the Guest of Honor and Inducting Officer. Engr. Sañez imparted words of wisdom and encouragement to the incoming leaders, emphasizing the critical role they play in shaping the nation’s environmental future.

The spotlight shone on Engr. Shirlyn Chua-Reyes, PhD, as she was sworn in as the new President of PCAPI. With a commitment to propelling the organization’s mission forward, she pledged to enhance environmental stewardship and promote sustainable practices across various sectors. Officers and trustees back Engr. Chua-Reyes, all eager to tackle the environmental concerns that await them. Engr. Gretchen F. Enarle, the outgoing Vice President for Internal Affairs, transitioned gracefully into an advisory role. Her four-year tenure at PCAPI’s helm leaves a legacy of achievement and a solid foundation for the new administration to build upon. Notably, Engr. Enarle is the current President of the Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika (SPIK).

The outgoing and incoming members pledged to work together towards a cleaner and greener Philippines. Their collective passion for environmental protection echoed throughout the venue, setting the stage for a term of innovative projects and collaborative efforts. PCAPI, under its new leadership, is poised to make significant strides in advocating for sustainable policies and fostering a healthier environment for all.
