The recent virtual meeting between Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika (SPIK) and the Mapua Malayan Colleges Laguna (MMCL) held on May 27, 2024, was a significant milestone in strengthening industry-academe partnerships. The MMCL delegation was led by Engr. Jesunino R. Aquino, Dean of the Mapua Institute of Technology Mapua Malayan Colleges Laguna, and Engr. Maribel G. Songsong, Vice President for Academic Affairs Mapua Malayan Colleges Laguna. SPIK was represented by their President, Engr. Gretchen F. Enarle, and Vice President for External Affairs, Engr. Albert Samuela.

The meeting focused on potential collaboration areas such as research, capacity building, internship, and immersion activities for MMCL students and professors. This partnership will not only benefit the individuals involved but also contribute to the overall development of the Philippine chemical industry. The discussion also highlighted the alignment of MMCL’s academic programs with the Philippine Chemical Industry Roadmap, which aims to strengthen the country’s competitiveness in the global market.
