Mr. Yoshitaka Goto, Consultant of Mizuho Information and Research Institute (MHIR), a Japanese research and consulting company, met representatives of DENR-EMB and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on December 14, 2016 at the AQTMC, DENR Compound.

Mr. Goto is currently conducting research on international chemical regulatory trend and strengthening cooperation with overseas authorities, chemical industry association and research institutes within the ASEAN countries that include Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. MHIR is also being tapped by the Japan Chemical Industry Association (JCIA) in developing chemical risk assessment support portal “BIGDr”.

A set of questionnaire was used during the interview and focused particularly on Regulation on “Household Products” containing harmful substances, the efforts of Mizuho on Chemical Management and the introduction on the BigDr.

Ms. Millete Mendoza- DENR-EMB, Ms. Thelma Perez- FDA, Gretchen Fontejon- Enarle, Engr. Jeffrey Mijares and Ms. Janet Marcellana of SPIK attended the meeting.
