The second meeting of the Sub-Working Group (SWG) on Industry Promotion of the Philippine Chemical Industry Roadmap (PCIR) took place at the BOI Building in Makati City on July 18, 2024. This assembly, chaired by Mr. Ronaldo Buluran, Acting Director of Manufacturing Industries Service of the Board of Investments (BOI) and Mr. Henry Siy from the Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika (SPIK), brought together representatives from the Progressive Association of Philippine Ink Makers, Inc. (PAPIM), the Philippine Paint and Coatings Association Inc. (PPCAI), and the Association of Petrochemical Manufacturers of the Philippines (APMP). Also present was Saltegra Consulting LLC, a distinguished entity in the promotion of process safety management in the country.

The SWG 2’s central theme revolved around the workplan for Strategies 4 and 6 of the PCIR. These strategies are aimed at enhancing the chemical investment landscape and pioneering the adoption of safer, more environmentally friendly materials and processes. Through collaborative discussions and insightful presentations, the group delved into the intricacies of fostering a sustainable and competitive chemical industry in the Philippines.
